How we picked these pet-friendly hotels
We started by identifying hotels in Columbus that explicitly allow pets according to their own listings. Each property was then ranked by its star rating, which reflects the level of service and amenities. For hotels with the same star rating, we used guest ratings to determine order, giving higher ratings to those with consistently positive reviews. Properties with very few reviews were ranked lower to ensure reliability. This method highlights the best options for pet-friendly stays in Columbus in 2026.
Tips for pet-friendly stays in Columbus
When traveling with a pet, always call the hotel ahead to confirm pet policies, including any size or breed restrictions, and to ensure a pet-friendly room is available. Some hotels may have limited pet-friendly rooms, so early confirmation is key.
Pack familiar items for your pet, such as their bed, toys, and food, to help them feel at home in a new environment. Keeping to their regular feeding and walking schedule can reduce stress.
During your stay, keep your pet leashed in public areas and be mindful of other guests. Use designated relief areas and clean up after your pet promptly to maintain a positive atmosphere.
Check if the hotel offers any pet amenities, like bowls or beds, but don't assume they are available. Bringing your own supplies ensures your pet has everything they need.
Consider the location and nearby activities. Some hotels may be near parks or walking paths, making it easier to exercise your pet. Research the area ahead of time to plan pet-friendly outings.
